destructive practices of Barrick Gold, KinderMorgan, and other mining/extraction canadian corporations, with guest speaker Sakura Saunders (Mining Injustice Solidarity Network); presentation of the Beehive Collective banner: The True Cost of Coal

3:00-4:30 pm: Grassroots Cafe** @ KPU Surrey: The Art of Resistance Tour!
This Fall, The Beehive Design Collective is hitting the road for a cross-canada tour entitled "Art of Resistance". They'll be combining storytelling and presentations of their newest masterpiece MesoAmérica Resiste! with hip-hop performances and shows by Testament of Test Their Logik, and public interventions and actions on issues of environmental and social justice. They'll be travelling with giant art murals, a fully stocked distro of activist art and literature, and stories, songs, and experiences to share...

In Surrey, the Tour is joined by

Entre Aguas, a land defender and artist from Colombia will lead a workshop on resistance to megaprojects in South America. Entre is a representative from Ríos Vivos (Living Rivers), a social movement of dam affected communities in Colombia that struggle in defence of their territories and rivers, and for an energy model that is by and for the people.
